This position is based out of our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.In this role, you will be leading digital content and social media strategies for the Sony Electronics brand and its products. The role will assume leadership over the social media and content team in the newly established Community Marketing division, and will be tasked with driving the brand forward in the modern media landscape, pushing to meet and exceed the goals of Sony’s various business and product groups.The Senior Community Marketing Manager must thrive in a rapidly changing environment, and be comfortable balancing multiple projects under tight and last minute deadlines. Responsibilities

  • Develop full funnel social and content strategy with a focus on story-telling that is aligned to target audiences and platforms for multi-purpose usage. Examples of content includes original web series and “always-on” social media.
  • Build and execute social media strategy for Sony’s businesses/products through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.
  • Lead Sony Electronics social media governance for entire company, collaborating with corporate communications, legal and social media mangers on corporate messaging, crisis communications, employee social media guidelines, new social channel requests and more.
  • Oversee resource(s) managing @SonyElectronics social media channels such as Instagram, Tik Tok, YouTube. Lead channel strategy, purpose, look and feel, content, calendar, messaging, engagement, reporting etc. Build paid boosting strategy to drive content. Identify & build new social commerce activations to drive product sales including developing a strategic approach for live shopping with influences/creators and internal spokespeople.
  • Act as an internal consult on overarching digital content strategy that includes social media and industry trends
  • Support head of community marketing to develop larger department strategies, goals and objectives to support brand and business.
  • Collaborate closely with product marketing managers to align on Community Marketing support for their product business. Key clients include representatives from Sony’s Audio, TV and Digital Imaging departments.
  • Manage the Community Marketing department and product budgets tied to all activities. Collaborate closely with product teams to align on marketing spend and forecasting.
  • Manage reporting and analysis for all Community Marketing activations, consolidating reports monthly. Present monthly to executive leadership on progress towards division goals.
  • Act as community marketing global liaison lead with Sony Electronics company headquarters in Japan and colleagues in Europe, as well as Sony sister companies including Sony Pictures, Music and PlayStation.

Qualifications

  • BS in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, New Media or Public Relations.
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience in an interactive/digital media field. Experiencing working within social media channels a must.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in leading an internal team of direct reports
  • Applicants should be well versed in social content creation, strategy, and tactics. They must have a deep understanding of data, be up-to-date on new trends and technologies, and have a creative editorial eye with a focus on increased engagement and conversion.
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to be agile in managing projects for multiple product categories
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address potential roadblocks with an understanding of prioritization through ROI.
  • Understand how to build and create content in the social media platforms
  • Strong presence, and administrator experience across major social media networks and proven track record of discovering new platforms.
  • Experience developing reports and analyzing performance along with making recommendations to further elevate a project based on findings.
  • Understanding of basic SEO within web, social outlets including tagging, descriptions, and titling in order to optimize click-through and traffic.
  • Attention to detail with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an understanding of prioritization through ROI.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a “can-do” attitude, diplomatic approach, confidence, and comfort around coworkers and executive management is a must.
  • An outgoing, strong personality to match both the community and company culture is desired.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $101,000.00 to $134,675.00. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.
