::Howdy, long time community manager (learned it all from @Wilder-at-Base while working at Intuit!) and looking forward to being more active in here.
About me:
Born in Australia and traveled the world as a kid. Currently living in Denver with my wife and dogs. Video gamer and avid tv/movie watcher. Was a sysadmin before I got into community management. Your typical GenX nerd who grew up with a C64 🙂

::I’ve been at places that have them. The ones I’ve seen were run by another department and then the community facilitated the process with a private group to stay up to date in between quarterly meetings. It was good to attend those meetings and get to meet the CAB folks in person. My current gig is planning on launching one so I’ll let you know how it turns out in this instance.

The last two are fiction, but have a prophetic view of the future.

::Sure! I had a colleague ask for advice about migrating to a new community platform in one of the community Slack channels I frequent (shout out to: https://dinner5.org/). I wrote a long answer of all the things I could think of from when I’d done it, and it turned out to be something that could be expanded into a course or tutorial. I’ll be working on that next month after I get my feet under me at my new job.

::The biggest difficulty is sending international and customs. I use Printful.com a lot, which is a print on demand service. One nice thing they do is print and ship from a supplier that is as close as possible to the recipient. So if you’re shipping to the EU, they’ll send it from an EU vendor thereby avoiding customs and speeding up shipping.
